Lungimsam
Trying to decide if O shpuld give up the all in one unit and go back to individual pedals or not. Any thoughts? All in one pros: Compact, only need one extra cable Con: Not all the effects sound as great as youde like. Individual pedals: Pros: Get the sounds exactly like you want. Cons: A million wires and the hassle of power adapters and an 800 lb pedal board to lug around. More expensive, too.
MrNylon
I've gotten by without pedals, sooooo no advice from me partner.
Kelvinator
What are you using now? I have a GT-6B that I like very much. What I like about it is this ability to set up individual banks for different basses, amps, or even rooms. The effects are quite good when you set them up yourself (the factory settings are pretty useless) and I do like the preamp and EQ sections. My old analog pedals do sound slightly better, but I like the tone-shaping and convenience of the GT-6.
Lungimsam
I am currently using the Boss ME-50B. The wah is terrible, and I don't like being forced to run my bass through their EQ. Maybe I'll just get a bass wah and whatever i need later.
Gaolee
I've gotten by without pedals, sooooo no advice from me partner. The only effects I have are the EQ on the amp and the volume and tone knobs on the bass. Fuzz might be fun to play with, but I haven't got any need for it right now. Would a guitar wah work for bass? ScooterTramp
Tried effects stomp boxes a few times always seem to end up back to the basics. Good amp badass cab and a good cable hooked up to a quality bass. EQ and little twist of the reverb knob can do wonders
Lungimsam
I don't really use effects, holding down the low end and all. But occasionally I have needed some delay and modulation effects. Wah would be just fun for me. I just EQ with the amp knobs too. I would never use pedal EQ. Only other effect would be overdrive. But the amp has that. Lungimsam
Would a guitar wah work for bass? Geezer Butler pulled it off real nicely in 1969 with a guitar wah. I wish I knew which one he used. I know there were no bass wah pedals at the time so had to be a guitar wah. I don't know which wah's were around in '69. I was only a year old and was still learning how to chew on my bass's tuning key. Ha ha...
