AnneS
Now, I change my strings fairly often (I like DR Rares- the .12 - .56 "bluegrass" blend), and this doesn't always happen. But sometimes, I have a little fun. Changed them in the afternoon yesterday and while playing 'em in (doesn't take long wth DRs, I've found), this little ditty appeared. So excuse the singing and the playing and the production ( I already know what I'm not going to be when I grow up! ) Other than that stuff--enjoy, if you can spare about three minutes you can never get back. Jack6849
Hey, very nice. Good chord progression, strumming dynamics, and feel. My three minutes were enjoyably spent and I don't want 'em back. Your new strings seem to have been a good investment... nice tune. Thanks Jack6849
Gilliangirl
You people who can write songs like this amaze and impress me (and make me jealous!). That was great! I too love the sound of new strings, altho' I haven't found them inspirational (yet). Your guitar sounds really dynamic and throaty (lovely tone), and your voice is expressive, and you sing with conviction, very nice voice!
stein
Thanks for sharing. I really like the first 2 verses.

EuroAussie
Anne, thats was great, really enjoyed it ! Simple, melodic, well constructed, lovelly voice and very well delivered ! Kept me interested across the full tune. Which guitar did you use btw, sounded like a mellow sounding J-45 or a perhaps a Hummingbird ? thanks for sharing ! AnneS
Aww...thanks for the kind responses , everyone, and fer listening. As I said, I had a little fun, so it's nice to share. That's my maple J-100xtra (drop D, capo'ed 5). Sometimes--new strings or not--she just sings out and tells me to write it down. That's been especialy true for the last couple of years for some reason. Age, I 'spose. I know some people (electric players I know, anyway) eschew the capo, but I've found that a Gibson capo'ed up the neck can sound like two or three different guitars. I sure can find lots of gems, experimenting. Again, thanks, all. I 'preciate it.
G McBride
Thanks for sharing that, I enjoyed listening. I too find that sometimes the guitar just leads you to a song. Unfortunately mine are usually songs from my memory and not self written.

AnneS
I like your new song very much! Great talent that you have! Guitar and voice sound wonderfull...Not wasted time at all....I listened twice... Thanks so much--it's a real kick to have a couple of listeners, and I appreciate hearing from you guys. Well, I have added several more songs to my soundcloud site, for those of you with the time and inclination to listen further. http://soundcloud.com/anne-rachel While all the songs are originals--most written within the last year--they're still very much "works in progress," in the sense that they could all stand to be shined up (many are barely-tweaked takes of the "hope I don't forget 'em in the morning" efforts). And seriously, I bet half of 'em came within days of new strings. Just sayin... Thanks, all...

BluesKing777
Great Anne - I really enjoyed that - your guitar and voice sound great. You have a very haunting vibrato in your voice, and I can easily imagine hearing that on the car radio soon. Send the track off to the music money people, and don't over polish! I too love the sound of new strings, altho' I haven't found them inspirational (yet). I have a feeling you could write a song Gg. Find a quiet spot and write down two 4 line verses with rhymes at the end of line 2 and 4. The topic is all yours. Then fix a little melody over 3 or 4 chords (based on the intuitive knowledge you have from playing your normal repertoire) and there you go. After that fish is on land, try to catch a bigger – and when 2 are done, 20 are within reach. I almost know you can do this since many of your posts are spiced with fantasy. E-minor7
Half a Chance Good tune and nice touch on the guitar. Third verse is rather open isn't it. Not unlike that Triad song that got David Crosby thrown of the Byrds so many years ago. How dare you. . . .
