Versatile
Hi there... This may or may not help But have you considered an SG....many of which have a super fast easy neck Or an Explorer which many shredders use to great effect..... V
Tim Plains
'59s do not have thin necks. As far as new guitars go, you want something with a '60s neck. There are two 1960 models. One is the 1960 Classic, which is a Gibson USA guitar; the other is the 1960 historic reissue (R0), which is the same guitar as the 59 but with a thinner neck. Both the Classic and R0 have "60s profiles) but the R0 neck is fatter than the Classic.
Tim Plains
Hope this helps. R8s tend to have fatter necks than R9s but they are sometimes the same. They're all finished by hand and they vary. My R8 has a neck that's very similar to many 2006 - 2008 R9s I've played. You may find ones that are thicker or you may find one that are thinner. 2009 & newer R9s have more of a V shape to them (less shoulders). Pearly Gates is slightly slimmer than all the 2009 & newer R9s I've played. R0s have the slimmest necks of all the historic reissues. I don't have a Classic, sorry. R8 R0 PG

BigKahune
. A thinner profile with a compound radius, something like 10" to 12" at the nut, blending to 14" to 16" at the end. Only Gibson Les Pauls I know of with compound necks are the LP Elegant, but I don't know the spec.
