fddustin
Hello Everyone Has anyone seen or played the Guitar Center Platinum Gibson Custom Pro. If so whats your opinion? I finally seen and played it. It was one of the most amazing les Pauls I had ever played. It also has the push /pull coil tap. This Les Paul can be used in any type of music. They come in three differant colors does anyone know when the other colors will be avaliable?
rocketman
I don't know much about them other than what I've read, but I love the red one...
GibSinCity
Saw a red one in person. Didn't play it. I know it has "custom wound" humbuckers, the push -pull tapping like the Trad. Pro. a one piece mahogany back, one piece 50's style mahogany neck, "Exclusive Guitar Center wiring", phase and kill switch, and a highly figured AAA top". I believe they're a Guitar Center exclusive. Limited to just 50 pieces of each of the current three colors and "More great Custom Pro finishes in the coming months", http://platinum.guitarcenter.com/promo/index.cfm?templateID=
Riverside
Why do they call it a "Custom"? Or "Pro" for that matter?
GibSinCity
Why do they call it a "Custom"? Or "Pro" for that matter? Customs are built at a different facility than the USA models. Custom shop models are usually higher grade wood, and are held to a higher quality standard etc. Lately "Pro" seems to mean different pickup switching, phasing etc. options. Riverside
Oh. So it's not a Custom Les Paul Custom. It's a Les Paul Pro, built in the Custom Shop. I'll think hold out for a Custom Custom Custom. That should the best. I do like this one though - It kinda looks like a "Custom": Like a Custom. Prolly not "Pro"
charlie brown
ANOTHER "Les Paul?!" LOL! A Custom Shop, Custom Standard Pro Traditional...Standard? Can't wait, to see what Fender does...now. Another Strat, no doubt! CB

That should the best. I do like this one though - It kinda looks like a "Custom": Like a Custom. Prolly not "Pro" There are many Les Pauls that are built at the Custom shop that aren't the "Les Paul Custom" model, if that's the "Custom Les Paul Custom" you're talking about. A "Custom Les Paul Custom", sounds like a Les Paul Custom model that you had Gibson build to your specs. "Custom Pro". A special run using "Pro" components built in the Custom shop, with a price associated with the label "Custom". You don't see flame tops like that from the USA division. I'm wondering what other color choices they're gonna make, and why the SG isn't getting some kind of special "50 of each color" run of it's own like this for it's 50th birthday.
