LSAR
Thought I'd let you guys know that MF has them up for preorder, they've been mentioned before and links & pics have been posted, but I didn't remember if anyone had posted the prices yet, and figured theres probably acouple new pics here: Without Trem With Trem I like the vintage sunburst without the trem, but other than that I don't think I'd pay $799 or $849 for one. I think they'd all benefit (visually) from removing the PG. What do you guys think about them...? EDIT: Btw, there are a few pics I didn't post because I passed the limit...but you can see them on the pages I linked to...
tweed2
I think that they did a pretty good job of catching the look/vibe that was popular back then. For a second, I thought that I was looking through the old Sears catalog again, trying to decide which guitar I'd get, if I only had the money. I agree with the pull-the-guard comment, the color doesn't fit. Also, as much as I like the headstock logo on it's own, I'm not sure that I'd ever warm up to it being on one of my guitars. It just looks heavy. Still I'd take one if the price was right.
DoubleWide Revival
Those are gorgeous to me. I'm really intrigued by the trem too. If my other guitar player had not just purchased a Godin Kingpin, I would consider it but If I show up with a prettier hollowbody with p-90s I'm gonna get punched in the nose. And I would pull that pickguard off the minute I got home.
RaSTuS
Sure are purdy, but how many Casino models do they need, talk about being spoiled for choice.
bonzoboy
I do like the vintage sunburst and the vibrato arm but I'm not gone on the tortoise shell pickguard and the "Kelvinator"style logo-I'd rather my '65 John Lennon any day or my '08 natural for that matter. KrisMiller
Are they gonna be built to vintage specs like the limited 1965 Lennons? Will they have poly or nitro?
Anthony_J
Wish they hadn't gone and done this. It's much too nice. You're telling me! I have a standard Casino that I stripped in refinished in a Royal Tan/Iced Tea burst finish! Now they come out with this?! Come on!

bobouz
Most likely what we have here is a Chinese made "inspired by" clone with a similar scarfed neck & poly finish, but altered appointments. Looks like a nice package that's priced right. Since the case is included, in reality this turns out to be only about $100 more than an entry level Casino, and for the extra money, you're getting USA pickups. Not a bad deal at all. That`s exactly what it is, but it looks as though it will be a bit cheaper than the "Inspired by" Casino`s. A very tempting package. Steve. BillyGibson
With all the Casino variants available, it would be nice to see a real "custom shop" way to order one with the: color, pickups, tail piece, neck, etc... that you want. Casinos are their claim to fame, but there wouldn't be enough differences in sound and feel for me, that I would want more than one. BUT, these sure are pretty and are giving me GAS pains
Parabar
Meh --- why do we need 500 flavors of Casinos when so many other worthy models and finishes have been discontinued? I'd rather see a sunburst Broadway again, or a Zephyr Blues Deluxe. How about those gold or silver sparkle Sorrentos that were only around briefly? Or the burgundy sunburst Joe Pass, a Riviera with mini-hums (6 or 12 string or both!), a G-400 with a Bigsby (and correct body bevels), or a Firebird VII with a real through-neck? Lord Summerisle
Nice. If I had some money I'd be after one of these. Good to see Epiphone producing a special edition Casino that isn't just a Beatles-clone. And I love the "Tremotone." And the dot inlays.
BSAKing
FWIW, I trotted down to the store today and put an order in for one of them. I opted for the burst with the Tremtone. It's all your fault!!! lol I figured I am really happy with all my Epi's (except maybe the SST which I don't care for) and I do not have a Casino in the stable. I thought the Gibson electronics and the case are worth the price spread between it and a regular Casino, never mind the 60's panache.... We'll see how it all works out... I'll report back when the thing finally gets here (some months away I guess)... PS.. I have always thought EPI's were incredible value, but I recently picked up a Squire classic vibe telecaster....Wow! Is all I can say.... But I picked one that just spoke to me - you know how it is. You'd think they'd all be the same, but I have personally never found it so... Through my '65 SuperReverb, the thing sounds more like a Fender than my '64 Strat. lol. mrw1960
Nice,BUT, I would rather pay $800 for the 60's Tribute Gibson SG W/P90's than for this Tribute. The Tremtone tailpiece IS nice, would go with the wraparound. Just my opinion for what its worth. <_<

OR...you could save $100 and get this which has neck binding and a cooler looking finish IMO, but, hey, it's your money. http://backstage.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/gibson-sg-classic-faded-electric-guitar

LOL UHHH! Well Rob, I'm thinking anything BUT a Bigsby or Tremtone. MY BAD!! Just a LP style tailpiece. I was just elaborating on that style. Wrote it up wrong.
