Guest BentonC
Just thought I'd try to find out what some of your favorite plugin processors are. I personally like the Waves Studio Classics collections (SSL, API, Neve). I know Waves gets bashed quite a bit (and, admittedly, some of thier plugins are worthless and they are very expensive), but I really really like this plugin set. They have proven (to me at least) to be some really useful tools. I also like the McDSP G-channel, T-Racks compressor, and the UAD stuff is always great when i have access to it. McEye
My favorite Instrument plugs are NI's Guitar Pro 4. Then would come Kontakt 4 and Kore 2. My go to mixing plug is T-Racks and some of the plugs in Sonar 8.5 like the vintage channel. I haven't got the entire suite of T-Racks yet I am slowly building it when they have deals. Next purchase will be the Opto Compressor.
Guest BentonC
I've been eyeballing the Kore pack for a while now. I can't quite get it yet, but I'm thinking that'll be my next instrument pack...
Valeriy
When I was adding a bass track in a cover version of the Calico Skies I liked the two small plugins: Waves MaxBass and Voxengo TubeAmp. Sent to me the bass track was a little blurry and vague, I tried many plugins that I had, but only these plugins had good effect to make the bass more dense and more saturated. Guest BentonC
I've never used either, but I've heard tracks processed with the MaxBass, and it rocked. never heard the Voxengo plug. I really like the SansAmp plug for bass too- though it is really easy to take too far...
Valeriy
I didn’t know about the SansAmp, maybe I'll try it too. Voxengo plugs have appeared recently, there are plenty of free plugs among them. But some of our sound engineers have noted with surprise that these plugins are quite good. I've only once used from this Voxengo category and while it was really not bad. Here, I see, the Voxengo TubeAmp is a newer than I have used: http://www.voxengo.com/group/free-vst-plugins/
