nosbig
Hi Ive been offered a les paul Studio with a busted headstock (no Prob) but it hasnt got a serial no on the back of the headstock. Anyone heard of this before? Cheers, Terry
strat-o-steve
Has the headstock already been repaired? Or is it still broken off? If it were repaired, the serial number may have been sanded off or filled in with filler, or maybe even covered up with a piece of wood veneer. Someones tried to repair it before but has the original white finish still The seller says that some were made with stickers and not impressed but I dont think thats right? StijnV
The Epiphone guitars did indeed sometimes have stickers instead of stamped serial numbers on the back of the peghead. Kind regards, Stijn

flyingarmadillo
On some of the painted headstocks the paint is so thick you can barely see the serial number - my SG is that way. Since it's going for repair anyhow try a little sandpaper and see if you can bring it up.
kaicho8888
The serial number on my white LP is not clear. The white nitro is so thick it almost fills up the numbers. I'm am sure if the back of the headstock was sanded a little, the depressed numbers will disappear.
