jason3211
i have a Les Paul Junior given to me by my grandfather, and was trying to find the year it was from. i was originally told that it was a 1964, but after some research i believe it to be older. from what it looks like the back of the headstock is inked with G 7037, but it is kind of worn so it could be something else. stein
That body style in the junior would have started in 1958 and ended in 1961 when it was replaced by the "sg" style. Judging from the rounded shape, likely not a 58 but maybe a late 58. As for the seriel number, I am not an expert but a little web searching it seems it should not be a a number to tell the yaer, followed by a space, then 4 or 5 numbers. so, for example: 0 7317 would be a 1960. So perhaps the "g" is a 8, 9, or 0. These are just the basics. You of corse would have to comfirm if it an old one or a reissue, either by knowledge of how long you knew the guitar or knowing what reissues were made and when they COULD have been made. charlie brown
well my grandfather who passed it on to me said he bought it in 63 but could of got the years wrong so as long as i know the range it is in that is good Uhhhh, how could it have been a '64 (as stated previously), if he bought it, in '63? (Just kidding) Seriously, it looks to be a late '59 or (more likely) 60-61, to me, because of the slightly rounded edges, on the body. '58-59, generally, seemed to have had less rounded edges, on the bodies. CB

Is it very fat and rounded or is it flatter on the back? Of corse, if it is in this range, the seriel # on the headstock should be able to tell for sure.
