Cobotacular
So i didnt know whether to categorize this under Custom or not If you check this craigslist ad http://holland.craigslist.org/msg/2368641145.html The LP checks out and after receiving multiple pictures ive ruled out any false issues in the build. The two questions i have is 1.) why does this guitar look like it has a rosewood fretboard instead of an ebony? 2.) Why does the serial not begin with a CS like normal Customs. The serial that i have checks out officially but not as a custom. The reason i want more input is because The seller is pretty much taking the first offer because he received the guitar in a kind of strange divorce situation and doesn't want it. Guitar Info Your guitar was made at the Nashville Plant, TN, USA June 20th, 2006 Production Number: 314 That's what i received from Gibson. Here are a few more pictures from the seller http://tinypic.com/r/rbmvx3/7 http://tinypic.com/r/kcjms/7 http://tinypic.com/r/16iv4sk/7 What's your thoughts? BigKahune
. The small, off angle pics aren't good, and I have four areas of concern. Headstock inlays, headstock wings, fretboard, and control placement. I wouldn't spend money on it.

I feel like the biggest give away was the horribly stamped serial that doesn't match up with it even being a custom and the rosewood fretboard. Tim Plains
That's an obvious fake but Customs before 2003 (I bellieve) didn't have CS serial numbers. Just the regular 8 digit s/n.
LSAR
And I don't think those are tuners that would be stock on a Gibson...
retrosurfer1959
Just because a number is a real serial number doesn't mean the guitar is real. And I wouldn't buy a guitar advertised with those photos even if it was a real gibson and that ones not even close.
