EuroAussie
So here's the thing. Ive been using when playing out mainly just my Fishman Aura spectrum DI, which i normally plug with a 1/4 plug into my Marshall AS100D or DI out when going to the house board at the larger venues. Ive just starting using two Boss pedals (chours and EQ). If I go through the marshall I just plug them into the marshalls effects input in the back of the amp, no problem with a 1/4 inch jack. However, my question is where do I plug the Boss pedals when playign through the house PA and we dont use the marshall ? With the fishman there is a DI input so the sound man just plugs into this and then connect into the house board, but where do the Boss pedals go ?? thanks a lot in advance. I am no expert in this area, but look for an fx loop i/o jack on the DI and see if you can read more about how that works. I have a Baggs Paracoustic DI, and I once read the instructions about the fx loop jack. Using a stereo Y- cable, the jack provides a send-return that lets you send a dry signal (i.e., before it is affected by the EQ, volume, etc. settings on the DI itself) out to be processed (to the pedals) and then back from there. Then, it's out to the PA as usual. One day, I will experiment with pedals, so I tried to understand this, back when I bought the Baggs. People with actual experience will be of more practical help to you, I'm sure.
sjl200
EA I use Fishmann gear and I have found their tech people very helpful with the type questions you pose. On their web site they have a product specific tech section . They would know the best way to run those pedals through the Aura DI to the FOH. Every time I sent them a question about the use of a product I got a response the next day sometime on the same day (this is via e-mail) try 'em you will like 'em . Just keep in mind the time differences involved.
