G McBride
I bought a J 45 off ebay last week. It is a 2008 that looks to be used lightly. We decided not to ship last week so that it would not sit in a warehouse somewhere over the weekend. I have a SWD now and everyone told me that the J 45 and SWD are two completely different sounding guitars. I will post some pics and opinions when it arrives later this week. Hope you got a good one unplayed, its a risk I probably would not take, but Im keeping my fingers crossed for you ! cheers.

G McBride
Now guys, don't make me start worrying now after you convinced me to buy this thing. I have had great luck on ebay purchases of guitars. This will be the first Acoustic but I have bought several Gibson electrics. I'll keep you updated. Gill
g6120
Congratulations The J 45 is one fine instrument no question . Just bought myself a J 45 Custom and its one of the best guitars Ive yet to play . The only trouble I seem to have of late is do I play the J 200 or the J 45 ? I should not complain Anyway you will love it
G McBride
Still waiting on this guitar to arrive from Washington State. Fedex says Monday. I don't think I will buy another guitar from this far away again. I can't stand the wait, should have done overnight delivery.

kystrummer
Now guys, don't make me start worrying now after you convinced me to buy this thing. I have had great luck on ebay purchases of guitars. This will be the first Acoustic but I have bought several Gibson electrics. Dont worry Mcbride. A couple years ago, I made a similar gamble. Found a J-45 on Guitar Center's "used gear" website. So I called the store, which turned out to be Los Angeles, and I had one of the guys describe it to me as best as possible. I decided to risk it, so I bought it and they shipped it to me here in Kentucky. My gamble paid off, because its one of the better mahogany J45s I've played. Plus, they shipped it in an awesome beat-up brown leather hardshell case! I spent half of what I would have if I bought a new one. Here's sending good karma to you, and hoping you have the same luck as me.

Alex_78
Thanks for the good karma. I will have it in my hands on Monday. It is loaded on the truck for Monday delivery. Don't worry McBride, most of my guitars come from ebay, the last one arrived today (an ovation k-1111 reissue, a real cannon!) and I never got a junk, sometimes I found just "good" guitars, but never bad. Usually I'm more concerned about damages during shipping, but so far I never had any significant break, just a lost side dot.
meanstreak
Every guitar I own I bought off eBay! Not had a single problem yet (knock on sitka spruce...) I'm in the same boat as you, I have plenty saved up in the Gibson Hummingbird fund to buy a used one, but it will be my first Gibson and I kinda feel like I'd like to be the one and only owner of it, you know what I mean? I've been rrreeaaalllyyy tempted a few times on some eBay guitars though! Looking forward to your pics and story!
Johnt
I couldn't agree more!!! Both looks and Tone! I am on the agreement things as well Although my SWD seems to have mutated and grown a few "extras" :)
