Jimbeau
Does anybody know what type Spruce Gibson was using in 1967 for the soundboard (top) of their B25 model? Mine looks pretty grainy, a little like Adirondack I have seen, but I wonder if you guys know? Thanks. http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=3636
sboiir
My understanding they are sitka - x-braced. But I've read many articles online saying in the early to mid 60's Gibson (builders)were interchanging parts as needed. Even putting Epiphone parts on Gibson's to use up their inventory after purchasing Epiphone. Kinda like it was better?? to grab existing available parts than to make a new set for just a limited run. I think a qualified Luthier would be the only person who might be able to say for sure. Yeah, no real help, but those B25's are fun gits no matter the wood used.
