onewilyfool
Hey BK....great sound and technique!!! Is your LG-0 set up for only playing slide or can you play it regular strumming or fingerpicking? I mean is the action low enough for regular playing or did you set it up for slide only. When I try to play slide with low action I get all sorts of buzzing with the slide.....probably just technique....but thought I'd ask.....Wily By the way, that guitar looks to be in EXCELLENT shape for a 58!! BluesKing777
Hey BK....great sound and technique!!! When I try to play slide with low action I get all sorts of buzzing with the slide.....probably just technique....but thought I'd ask.....Wily By the way, that guitar looks to be in EXCELLENT shape for a 58!! Thanks Wily. The guitar is setup for regular playing - I don't like to commit to higher set-ups for slide 'cos I may change my mind tomorrow and play classical! I put new strings on it (12's) and hope the expensive looking Brazilian Rosewood bridge is not moving - previous owner had really light strings on it. The finish looks good on the video, but a huge dark cloud went over as I was filming and it makes BK and the guitar look good and crack-free. I was previously making (amateur) videos down the coast and we stopped at Macca D's on the way and I think I managed to get grease on the video lens - either that or I've worn the video out already - the autofocus is 'hunting' a bit. Either way, the Gibson LG0 is a fabulous find for me. I wanted a Gibson for G tuning slide to compliment my Blues King in D tuning and my J45 in standard tuning. I believe Gibson went silly with this model after 1960 and made all kinds of weird changes - a shame really 'cos my model is top class. So - in case I given the LG0 bug to others - buyer beware.
