AcousticGeek
So I'm trying to get some type of authoritative answer on this, rather than the "I've heard that before I think," rumor. Just put some .013s on it and I'm worried that something so heavy could cause damage. Is this the case? Elixir Phosphor Wound to be exact. Thanks guys. ChrisA83
Strings are designed to go on guitars. All saddles will wear out at some point, probably quicker with higher guage strings, but having 13s on it is nothing to worry about.

Had a lot of guitars for a lot of years and the last thing I'd worry about is saddle wear from 'mediums'. If you do get some light 'grooves' a quick touch of emery cloth will smooth them out. Got three guitars here that I've played a lot for from eight to thirteen years. No problems with strings/saddle grooves. If I were to worry about these things I'd honestly guess lighter gauge strings could dig a slot quicker...but not worth even thinking about. Have fun with the 13s.
