Songwriter Deluxe Custom

Well some of you guys know I had just bought a new J-200 Custom that I had to sell due to some financial reasons. Things worked out fairly well I was able to get a really good trade offer on another forum which included quite a bit of cash and a 2009 Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Custom cutaway in mint condition. I shipped out my J-200 yesterday and he shipped out the SDC and I should get it on tuesday. I'm going to see how we are doing financially over the next week or two and I'm hoping to maybe hold onto the SDC.

Has anyone played one of these really pretty guitars? How did you like it? On paper they look and sound incredible. Hot hide glue adi braces, with lots of abalone and flamed maple binding!!!

Here are some pics of the one I'm getting.

The other funny thing I forgot to mention is, when I bought my J-200 Custom from Sweetwater I was really torn between it and getting the Songwriter Deluxe Custom to save a bit of money. The difference in the new price is about what I got in cash from the person I did the trade with. I guess I was meant to have one of these songwriter customs.

Well I own a studio and played a standard but never tried a SWD custom.

But I can tell you the SWD is a great guitar, needs a bit of looking after in terms on strings, brightness but when you get the right balance its a sweet sounding rosewood Gibby with an all mighty growl.

Hope you like it and will be ablt to hold on to it !

cheers.

.

Beautiful guitar.

Another member has one, can't remember who though.

I have the Deluxe and have played the Standard, the custom and the Firebird all are amazing guitars I run Elixers on mine changed the sound to perfection or at least for me

I have a Martin JC 16 Jumbo cutaway and it seems to loose a little low end due to the cutaway. I also have a SJ 200. I think a lot of it may be the difference in the rosewood back and sides on the Martin and the maple back and sides on the Gibson. The guitar you have coming is a real looker, by the way. The fretboard inlays are beautiful.
