I’m looking to sell it as me and the lady are buying a house but when i look at new prices they are 3k plus!!!!

Any help would be appreciated

I experienced the same confusion with my 2004 SJ200 which I purchased in 2006. It has many of sthe feature of the TV. I guess they split the models and things like tuners that were on the one and only 'standard' model became part of the upgraded TV model. Orange labels on the standard were retained on the TV and went white, I believe, on the new/slightly downgraded 'standard'. So, valuing a Gibson is as much a function of the year it was made as the model. G'luck.

You should both post photos so we can compare.

What it's worth and what you may be able to sell it for is a whole universe apart..Post some pictures ..But it definetly isn't a sellers market now..I have a songwriter deluxe that I'd like to sell because I need the money..butI don't seem to be able to give it away...So good luck.

As Mike notes, it's not a True Vintage if it's a 2004 model. It's likely to be what at that time was called an "SJ-200" , which was modeled on the 1950s SJ-200s, kinda, sorta.

A nice guitar, either way. (I have one too.)

Offhand, all things being good, I'd venture a guess of somewhere in the $2200- 2500 range, depending on condition, OHSC, no modifications of significance or surprises, and what the market happens to be like that week.

I think recent eBay sales have been a little lower, a bit under $2000. But who knows what will happen in any given auction? gbase wasn't much help, but I'd guess a dealer might be able to get $2500 or a little more for it. With new, warrantied SJ-200 Standards available for around $3000, I wouldn't think getting much more than $2500 is likely.

On further reflection, I think that you may well be right about that, Bob. The higher end of the range I quoted is likely to be more like what a dealer would or could charge.
