Danno
My ES137 is awesome, don't get me wrong, but when I play it, there is a distinct buzzing noise coming from somewhere on or under the top. It's not fret buzz, but when I play really luscious bassy chords, there is a subtle buzz, almost a rattle, that you can hear on recordings. I'm wondering if this is due to some unsecured electronics or maybe even the toggle switch. Has anyone else run into this with semi hollow guitars? Any ideas on how to fix it? The guitar is brand new... Thanks!
brundaddy
Contact Gibson. If it's brand new then it's under warranty, & that's a hell of an expensive guitar to not be perfect in every way. I have a 137 & it's great. Good luck.
Danno
Actually I figured it out - I was recording something and I had the LCD monitor facing the pickups. So there was a weird buzz that was probably due to some e-mag interference of some kind. Everything I've recorded since sounds like pure sex, so I'm totally happy about it.
