zmart
hi I was looking to identify my friends les paul (who leaves in round my place, lucky me) After viewing Ross's pics http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/49710-identification-of-old-epiphone-les-paul/ the guitar is identical except for the colour of the nut which is cream and it has a neck plate on the back which states "Hand crafted in Korea by Epiphone The Epiphone Company Nashville Tennessee USA F98030084 " If I had an idea what it was I might be able to make him a tempting offer sometime as I'd hate him to have to take it away one day TY

Supersonic
I could be wrong, but going by the fact that it has a neck plate on the back, it's probably an LP-300. I had a guitar almost exactly like that years ago. It had all of the appointments of an LP Standard except it had a bolt-on neck with the silver neck plate on the back instead of a set neck.
