captain blast Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Nice work!! I have a 1956 (brown control panel) GA 70 that had been stripped of the covering. I also have a 1958 (Chrome Control panel with more knobs) chassis. I would like to restore the brown one as well as build a cabinet for the 1958. If you would be so kind, where did you get the brown and "carpet print" covering fory your restoration?? Same question for the 1958, as I will be needing to over that box once I make it. Also, Are these amps identical in size? According to the Gibson Literature in the tube amp book, the brown one is 22 inches wide and 20 inches high, while the '58 is 22 1/2 wide and 20 1/2 high. Are these dimensions correct? seems like they should be the same size, but since you have one of each, can you please verify for me?? Thanks a bunch!!
Californiaman Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I think that's a great restoration project.;) What a nice job. Now... where can I find one?
Gibson Gear01 Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Well done! From what I understand, they are rare amps.
