joshatatlasstands
No, it is the scotch, your scotch is talking......I said, it's nice seeing how folks who buy Josh's awesome stands feel compelled to upgrade their music rooms.....I don't see what you missed in my statement....Josh's amp stands are unique, and everyone who buys one is compelled to upgrade their music rooms......IE, come on, R9 has amazing guitars......He didn't carpet his geetar room until he got his Atlas Stand....... Jeeez, this is Geetar Stands 101..................... ChanMan, he upgraded his music room............etc etc etc............. I do try to make things better in the music room realm. Aesthetics is a huge part of any recording studio, which is where I spent most of my time learning. I notice that if a performer feels good and comfortable in a studio, they actually perform better and the album has more of an authentic feel as opposed to a forced feel. The best recording studios and music rooms are designed to make the musician feel good. This is one of my focal points with the hardwood amp stands, to make music better by helping the musician feel better relaxed, at peace, comfortable, and taken care of. I only see one thing though in the statement that doesn't resonate with the facts. Only the thread starter, artie owl, bought anything here, the rest is all 100% free to the new owners, I even covered freight, and Artie's stand is still sadly stuck in the Canada Posts...sucks for him right now...send him some good vibes today please. Anyway, Damian, thank you for the observation, very astute, and you nailed it man, or at least a big part of it. One of the great things about high quality gear is it motivates us to perform in ways that sometimes are overlooked or unattainable in neglected and run down musical environments. The best venues in the world have the best green rooms and really take care of the bands who roll through them. The best recordings usually come from studios where the artists felt the safest and most comfortable. It allows the artist to pay attention to the music, instead of paying attention to the feeling of the performance space. One of the coolest things about being in a recording studio is when you are tracking a song and the guitar player has the headphones on listening to the Que systems, doing overdubs and punch-ins etc. Usually you can hear them start breathing to the beat of the songs without being aware of it., but they don't know they are physiologically entrained to the music, both mind and body. Music is so cool like that, it runs far deeper than our ears and such, it changes our breathing, our heart rate, our neural firing patterns, hell...I could go on for hours about the motivation and multitude of effects directly related to the aesthetics of the musical environment...including the scotch Hang in there Brandon, you should get your stand today if all goes well! It cant be far behind shred's the left here at the same time.

Josh, there are no words to thank you for the incredible stand you gave me. +1000! It really does help the sound quite a bit. I was surprised as I was a little skeptical of how much of a difference it would make. Sure it's gorgeous, but did it really help the sound? Yes. Yes it did!!!! Josh, there are no words to thank you for the incredible stand you gave me. Artie, it'll be worth the wait. Just think of it as Christmas.... it'll be here soon enough, then WOW!!! Thanks chanman, and Duane, and all of the rest of you who gave me the benefit of doubt here. I am truly grateful and would love to keep helping people out as best I can. I know first hand and can honestly declare to just how much better these hardwood stands sound, it is an amazing sonic experience that I never had with any of my tube metal stands in the past. Being a recording studio nut I knew the hardwood would do something good, but I didn't expect it to be quite as noticeable as it ended up being. It has to be the hardwood paneling involved that makes the difference or something, not sure but it is apparent, tone woods rule in the music world. It's something about the wooden stand does great things with sound, I wish I could get it on an oscilliscope, or an analyzer of some sort to prove my point. Skepticism was really extreme at first, and still is to a certain extent, but as people try them out and give the rest of the world feedback I feel less and less like the only one who is in the know about these stands. Please, please spread the good word with me because things are getting pretty tough here trying to make something good happen before I run out of steam and resources. I've been doing this since August of last year and my fingers and toes are crossed. The product is awesome and very strong but I still need all the help/hype I can get. Artie, let me know if there are any problems what-so-ever when it arrives and I'll take care of you my friend. Sincerely Josh
Artie Owl
IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE! I savoured opening the box for about 5 minutes then like Christmas in July revealed an amp stand custom built for me. The cherry strips inlaid into the walnut is badass and sets it off like light through a prism. The straps are leather and would be proud to put on any of my guitars. And the creme de la creme is the epoxy inlay Josh did for me custom, with the 4 suits from playing cards. It's literally IN the wood and is shiny and awesome. Can't wait to upload pics when I get home tonight. Woo!! Waiting paid off! I only got it about 20 minutes ago. I saw the Canada Post van pull up and instead of her usual bundle she had to go around to the back of the van. I went outside and asked "You wouldn't happen to have a big *** box in there with my name on it would you?" She pulled out this box about 3' by 2' with ATLAS STANDS and Brandon written on it and I literally said "f'n eh!" So excited to go home and try it out. Gonna be a long day now haha. Artie Owl
Here she is on my own apartment floor, presenting my Blues Jr quite well; It really makes a serious difference in the way your sound penetrates the room, the wood acts as a natural kind of reverb on its own. Since the sound isn't muffled by the floor she really sings. There isn't a single visible flaw in the workmanship. Seriously when I got it out of the box at work I leaned hard on it to see if it would creak or groan but not even a single creak, it's solid through and through. The custom work Josh did for my taste on the toe with the playing cards suits is just freakin awesome as well, as it's a resin or epoxy, inlaid into the wood itself. Can't wait until I have a nice weekend day to just lay into my guitar and play, maybe my playing will brighten someone's day, 3 stories down on the sidewalk while I jam, who knows. One huge problem I've had with other amp stands is the way they angle up...Usually it's angled up way too high or low...The way your Atlas stand is angled is freakin perfect....I'd be real curious to hear a "then & now" clip to the difference's with your Atlas..Amazing work Josh, and looks incredible Artie. joshatatlasstands
Thanks y'all, I do aim to please. Let me know if you have any problems and I'll help out as best I can! It looks really awesome under your amp Artie. The angle is quite nice too. Enjoy! You should be able to hear it a lot better now at any volume, so the downstairs neighbors will love it too! OK Who's next! B) LOL PS I am updating the website, the studio and low rider are now on there and I lowered prices again as well because I'm getting faster at making them without scratching my head so much in a stupor! damian
I wonder, since it's off the floor now will they hear it less in the apartment below me? Hmm.. Probably not by much......The stands will transmit the sounds to the floor....Which is a good thing in most respects... Two or three inches of foam under the amp, and isolating the back of the amp with foam strips will work wonders...You can cover the foam in fabric..... This worked well for me in an upstairs apartment....I designed my apt to be able to play a 65 watt tube amp at suprising volumes doing this....I also isolated standing waves etc etc......( Someday I'll get an Atlas Stand as well )........ Artie Owl
My thoughts and impressions thus far with my atlas stand; PROS; - The amp does sound better - It's off the floor - It's more of a "piece" in the room now - If I start doing shows It'll look badass and be functional - Actually made of wood (not pressboard or particle board or any of that other synthetic crap) - Here is the BIGGEST benefit that I didn't realize until I set it up; Your stupid buddies won't try to use your expensive tube amp as a G-D DRINK COASTER as the angle is too steep for them to try and rest their beverage on it. CONS; -Still looking.
