bonks49
Hey Everyone... This is my first time doing this so I hope I do alright.... A few years ago I bought a brand new 2008 Gibson Les Paul Traditional at the Memphis Factory. It has sounded great up until a few months ago. For some reason the Treble sounds much quieter on my amp then the middle or rhythm setting. I have plugged in a few other guitars to see if its the amp and it isn't... I have no idea if this is a serious issue or if it's something that I can maybe fix on my own. I hope someone can help! Thanks
charlie brown
Sounds like it might be a loose, but not completely broken, connection... or possibly, the switch contact points, need cleaning, for the bridge pickup. Have you moved the toggle switch back and forth a number of times, to see if it does it only once in awhile, or is it a constant thing, now? Try some "Contact Cleaner" or "electrical grade" spray silicon...carefully. If none of that helps, you might need a new toggle switch? Check to see there isn't a loose connection, at the switch, or pots. Hard to say, without being there, and seeing exactly what's going on. Good Luck! Whitehall
Sounds like a contact problem. You can also raise the neck pickup height a lot and lower the bride pup all the way. Now flip the toggle. Is it still doing it ? then its a contact problem . Probably not a big deal. just spray some cleaner on the switch. If it is actually a bad toggle switch, they are only like 20 bucks. Flight959
I would be looking at the volume pot. They are not expensive to replace...
SG Jones
> I would be looking at the volume pot. They are not expensive to replace... Ditto. Common problem. You may try removing the knob, spraying some contact cleaner around the shaft of the pot, and then rotating the shaft back and forth several times. If you can solder, attach the bridge pickup to the rhythm pot or directly to the output and that will tell you for sure. Nice looking LP Flight 959 BTW.
