constant31
Hello, I bought a new Gibson Les Paul 50`s Neck, in Guatemala. The dealer is a big brand here, and its supposed to be an authorized dealer from Gibson. I however have some doubts about the guitar. I cannot find much information about this guitar online. My fear is that the guitar might be a fake, but i cannot be sure. If anyone can help me to tell how to be certain that its an original Gibson, I would really appreciate the help. I will post some photos i took, because i think a trained eye might see something I might have overlooked, which can assure me its either a real or a fake. Thank you for your help in advance, Constantino.

Ronnie Robinson
What makes you think its a fake? As far as I can tell it looks ok. Did it come with a Gibson hard case and any Gibson documentation? - U might want to take one of the pickups out or have a look at the wiring and pots, there should be some indication of Gibson USA. I have been seeing many of the videos and discussions to inform myself about counterfeit guitars, but it might have produced the countereffect of making me paranoic. What made me want to certify its authenticity was that it didnt come with a certificate. It did bring a Gibson USA hardshell case, though.
StijnV
A Les Paul Standard from the USA division does not come with a certificate of authenticity; only some artist models do and for the rest the guitars from the custom shop division. The guitar looks original to me, but if you would like us to run the serial number in our database, we would also need a picture of the back of the headstock, with the serial number clearly visible. Kind regards, Stijn

Kind regards, Stijn I would welcome any kind of help you can provide. I will attatch the pictures. Do you know by any chance if this particular model is a chambered body? I thought it was traditionally weight relieved, but since its a standard, im not sure. Thank you very much.
