LPguitarman
If you're going to change the pick-ups anyway, it really doesn't matter which one. They're both Les Paul Studio's. Just depends on what you want it to look like. Keep in mind, a P90 is smaller than a Humbucker so you will have to do some cosmetic work to make it look good. strat-o-steve
Before I bought a guitar, only to tear in to it with power tools to swap pickups (p90 to humbucker), I would just buy the model equipped with humbuckers from factory. Who knows, you may fall in love with the stock pickups, but if you don't, then swapping pickups will be MUCH easier and painless when it is just a simple swap and solder ordeal! ;) But, since both models are humbucker guitars......choose the one you like the looks of the best! I would just buy the 50's tribute LP Studio if I were you.
budglo
You might want to look into the Studio Deluxe.I just bought one in Ice Tea and it has humbuckers and a push /pull pot for single coil sounds .It has the Burstbucker pro in the bridge for some awesome rock tones. The JB is a serious Les Paul - it's heavy (not chambered, mine is 9 lbs) and has fantastic tone, sustain and feel right out of the box. Plus it's a limited edition. The 50s is very light weight. I would take the JB anytime!
