If you come across the guitar in this link don't buy it!

This guitar was stolen from the owner's studio when it was luted during the riots in Vancouver. It's heavily modified and has lots of sentimental value to it's owner. If you come across it, get as much info on the seller and contact police. Many people are making the assumption that the thief would be trying to sell this guitar in Canada. Keep in mind Vancouver's proximity to the Canada/US border and that it could possibly turn up in Washington, Oregon or other US States not far from Vancouver.

there was an oversite on my part. looking at the date he posted the ad I assumed it was related to the vancouver riots. if you take the time to read the whole ad and not just skip straight to the description you'll notice it was stolen on June 5.

Either way this does suck. Clearly the guitar has more sentimental value to the owner than what anyone would pay for it. The link is going viral already. It's all over facebook. Won't be long before this is the most recognizable Les Paul in North America and hopefully the thieves will realize it's a worthless hunk of wood to them now that the word is out about it. Since it's been modified heavily it's lost all it's value to a collector and is nothing more than a "players guitar" now... and even us players who would be willing to pay a decent sum for this guitar would never have paid what it could have been worth, and now won't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Even someone who would consider buying a hot guitar would not pay much for it and if they're aware of how wide spread the story on this guitar has gotten, even they may not be willing to take the risk.
