ShiekofGeek
I love these guitars. Does anyone know which Custom Shop makes them, Nashville or Memphis?
clayville
My '03 CS-356 was made in Nashville, and I *think* they're made there still. The 339s, 359s and *some* of the 335s (couldn't tell you which ones) are now made in Memphis, I believe.
CR9
The CS356 is still made in Nashville. As a general rule, the ones with a CS serial number are made in Nashville. The ES series is made in Memphis except the "Historic" line that is made in Nashville as a general rule. There are many small exceptions like one-offs and custom orders. 99.9999% sure your 356 is a Nashville guitar. 336=Nashville 339=Memphis

ShiekofGeek
Thank you very much, Gentlemen. Appreciate the reply. I've got an '07 that I purchased used for next to nothing. I liked it so much I bought one new just a few months ago, my "bury it with me" guitar. They are similar, but different. The new one is lighter and much more "woody" sounding. Both are wonderful. I had toured the Memphis shop a few years ago, but didn't really see where they would be carving out the mahoghony body. Thanks again for the info.
