vipe155
First off, I know this is a cheap LP Jr. I just wanted to have some fun modifying a guitar I got for a great deal. This guitar doesn't really like to stay in tune. Not terrible, but not acceptable. It has these tuners: Should I replace the tuners? The plastic nut? Both? If I should replace the tuners, what would be a drop in replacement that wouldn't have any screw holes showing? I'll probably swap out the pickup/electronics. I did that before on my MIM Strat. Thanks for the advice!
Versatile
A P90 makes for a huge amount of fun IMO.... V
brianh
Vipe, here's a few threads to peruse for starters: http://forum.gibson....__1#entry933049 http://forum.gibson....__1#entry891832 http://forum.gibson....__1#entry829973 http://forum.gibson....__1#entry816469 http://forum.gibson....__1#entry783175 http://forum.gibson....__1#entry762495 Let us know what you decide, these Jrs are fun to mod, we have a lot of them here. (And yes the tuners should be the first thing to go...)
vipe155
I saw that picture of putting plate tuners on the Jr. That is my first choice, and it looks like it fits on there. I assume that would also cover up all/majority of old screw holes as well. I just haven't seen any other tuners (yet) by the major brands that have the two opposite/diagonal screws like this Jr. has. I don't think I'll be going with a humbucker sized p90, simply because I already have a single coil guitar.
SketchyEtchy
Yo, I changed my tuners for straight 3 buttons. Like the gibbo's. I got mine for £40 off a website. Easiest thing to attach as well!

vipe155
'Maria' is a hottie... Just sayin' Vipe155: WT# does it say on that headstock??? You mean the word? It's an Epiphone "Invader." I looked at the guitar and said that's a Epiphone Junior, right? I tried to find info on the "Invader" thing, and I guess it was some run of juniors that were packaged with an amp. The "Invader" pack lol. I thought it was unique, and I got it even cheaper than a cheap Junior costs anyway.

If there is any difference between a 'Junior' & an 'Invader' someone here will know IMO 'Junior Invader' sounds totally wrong EDIT: Found this on RTH & Sjael's eggcellent Epi resource http://www.epiphonewiki.com/index.php?title=Les_Paul#Les_Paul_Invader
