BigKahune
. My '98 D-45 VR has no label inside, just a brand - here - Here's a different Martin guitar with a brand you can see better -
E-minor7
Fine video - Guess the D-28 is 'just' a terrific sounding ex. Never saw a 28 with a label, my 35 have non, but my Custom D.18 has a paper label asymmetrically placed below the sound-hole. Your 45 looks convincing BigK; nice warm hue. I'm sure there's a lot of tone inside that box. Yeps !
E-minor7
The link above leads to a rather sloppy UMGF thread, but the story about Paul receiving a D-28 a few years back is probably true - why not. However he already used a Martin live as early as the beginning of the 90's. I saw him at a smaller concert round then – just after the unplugged album – and he played a straight blonde lefty 28 that night for sure. At one point he was solo on stage and said - "Bob Dylan has a stative around his neck, , , I have this". Then he called a guy out in the light who held his harmonica during an intire folksong. Can't remember which. By the way he also introduced us to his secret hobby : DRUMs ! Some night. . . .
j45nick
so the standards have no labels then ? Generally, the "special edition" Martins have paper labels with the series number, offset from the back centerline inside the soundhole. They also have the standard Martin model designation and serial number stamped on the neck block. My 000-28 EC, for example, has a stamped serial number of 1250948 on the neck block, and a series number 13648 on the label.

Rambler
According to the Fab guitars of the Beatles its a "C.F. Martin D-28 acquired by Macca 1968 (its serial number, 223757, identifies it as a 1967 model"). That would make it a non-herringbone, braz. rw model, which would make it a plain old D28 (like, a plain old Mercedes). Further, "this sweet-sounding dreadnaught surfaced during the "White Album" sessions (it's the one used on "Blackbird"), and can be seen in the "Two of Us" scene in the "Let It Be" film." Link to http://www.thecanteen.com/mccartney7.html main site:http://www.thecanteen.com/fabguitars.html ps martins didnt do labels until they started their artists series in the 90s. The stamp on the center brace was standard.

E-minor7
I'm sure several of you remember McCartney's black Everly. But are you aware he played another Gibson before that !?! - A mix between a square shouldered J-45 and a sq. sh. J-160E. Cherryburst with 2 knobs, pick-up and the 45 Deluxe pick-guard. Upside down. . .
Rambler
"JuanCarlos is asking about the newer left handed model." Aha. Looks to be as JC described a plain jane 28, ir, newer-style tuners. Interesting thing about Macca, he doesnt seem to be fussy about instruments, plays std models for the most part.
dubstar
I am almost positive that there is no label in the Martin he played yesterday and tonight...there might be a stamp, but I had several pretty good views inside and there was definitely not a paper label great show...I was in section 324 tonight and the sound was excellent; crystal clear, well-rounded, and loud, with none of the reverb off the stadium I was getting in 17B last night (between home plate and the yankees dugout)...however, there was a half-second video delay that was a bit unsettling...I did not experience this last night, possibly because the lower level seats were getting more of the main mix, as opposed to the delay towers...anyway, the sound was fantastic tonight...not a big billy joel fan, but his singing and playing was quite good even though the set lists are very similar, there were enough subtle differences in the playing and singing to make it a non-issue...while I agree that mixing it up would be great, it's not a problem for me when looking at the big picture abbey road medley was superb! I think it's the president of martin , his wife and their daughter . that stamp came with the 175 anniversay edition instruments . but they also came with a label . Do you think it's a standard D 28 ?
