Stu4UinCinci
Nice looking G3. Many say the G3 was the best sounding Gibson Bass with all three pickups active. This sound clip was recorded on the 1976 maple bodied G3 with GHS Flea Signature round wounds, plugged directly into a mobile preamp. Click below to listen. The middle position of the pickup switch activates all three pickups for what was termed as "a buck-and-a-half". finger style, vol 10, tone 10: http://www.flyguitars.com/sounds/maple76g3allpups10-10f.mp3
Bassilisk
Very nice. I had an identical one and I must say it was one of my favorite sounding basses. My understanding is the pickups were by Bill Lawrence. Great tone & skinny neck but I did find it a little weighty. Still, an excellent bass.
