My Goldtop BFG

Here is a couple of pictures of my nearly finished BFG. I was going for the Les Paul Deluxe look. I changed all of the hardware to original Gibson nickel and the tuners are Gibson Kluson tuners with the tulip buttons. I also managed to find an original Deluxe truss rod cover. The only thing I have left to do is install some real dot inlays, which I will do in the next couple of weeks.

Very nice, good choice on adding dot inlays instead of the trapezoids. Personally I think the trapezoids are a bit too much, I like them but prefer dots or a single inlay if none at all. I still think the painted EMG in the neck is a nice touch. Did you do anything else to your black one?

Cool guitar.

A BFG with inlays? Hmm...

I think my favorite BFG visual cue is the lack of any inlays.

you are giving me GAS for a BFG...

A-hem...

I used to feel the same way Timbo... but once I got my Tele... I'm not GASsing for anything right now... maybe once you get your strat you'll be cured for life... :D Or maybe you should get a Tele :D J/K man...

I like both inlays but the dot inlays are way easier to install after the guitar is fretted:) Just drill a 1/4" hole, super glue them in place and sand them down.

The black BFG is pretty much done also, except for the inlays, which I will install dots on it as well.

Thanks,

I've been playing way too long with inlays as my cue to go without now:) I could probably get used to the side dots only, but on a dark stage I like to be sure I'm in the right place before the song starts! Just a crutch I guess:)
