daveinspain
Tim touched on a good question and I'd like to see if we can get any inside info on this one... Mike are you listening?? Has there been and update to the Robot's software or ROM? Also as software upgrades come along, as they are bound to, will those who have earlier versions of the software be able to update? It's just out of curiosity, my Robot works fine I have no issues with it...
sunburstfaded
Good question. I have another one. Robot buyers in the UK are not supplied by Gibson with a power unit for the battery charger. What are people in the UK using to recharge their Robot batteries?
daveinspain
That is so wierd because I bought my Robot in Boston and brought it back to Spain with me... The charger that came with the Robot works fine here. It switches from 110 to 220 automatically? If it didn't come with a charger just order on from the states... works fine. sunburstfaded
I've heard that Gibson will not supply these charger units even as spares.
MarkHolbrook
As the owner of a new ebony Robot I too wish to know how the firmware updates will go. Seems to me like Gibson does not want us opening the panels in back (says no need to in the manual) so I'm curious how firmware updates will go. ChanMan
Sorry, while I could find the method for verifying the existing firmware version, indicating that there should be a method of changing that.... I could not find a "how-to". Is there a USB port on the charger or guitar somewhere? If not, perhaps calling CS... 1-800-4GIBSON... I'd be interested to know, myself! niemepet
That's interesting info - in UK you don't have charger. How you get the battery charged? I bought my Robot from Official Gibson dealer in Finland. In the case was the charger - so I'm wondering why UK Robot doesn't have charger and how you supposed to charge the battery? sunburstfaded
That's what I'm hoping someone will tell me...someone from the UK who has bought a Roboto
daveinspain
Hmmm, We never did get an answer on how the software updates are going to be handled as they come along. Is there a way to update older Robots as the new software becomes available?
bherrel
Getting any info about the Robot, it's charger or software from Gibson (or dealers for that mater) is near impossible. I went straight to the people that make the system (PowerTune) for Gibson (Tronical of Germany), and got the best info with outstanding turnaround time.
