will scarlet Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I recently bought a gibson les paul standard faded, it has a great tone and i love it. However, the pickups have started to cut out. The problem seems to be in the selector switch. If i move the wiring about this has no effect, but when i tap the metal houseing the sound comes on. Could this be a lose wire or a faulty switch, in which case is it easy to replace. The guitar is under warranty but was bought on line from a shop in london and i do not want to have to return to them i would prefer to do any repair myself, or take it to my local shop. Anyone have any ideas what the problem is-should i just replace the switch and if so with what brand. Many thanks- will.
ChanMan Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 You can take it to any authorized Gibson repair facility, it does not have to go back to where you bought it. If you want to do it yourself, it shouldn't be that difficult... providing you have the requisite skills.
