Quality Push Pull Pot

Hi

Im looking to utilize the 4 conductor wiring on my Alnico 2 pro humbuckers.

its for my Les Paul Traditional so I know I will require long split shaft pots.

what I am looking to find out is - what are the best quality push pulls on the market? I swapped out the stock pots awhile ago for CTS but do CTS make good quality Push Pulls?

also for anyone that has this on their les paul at the moment is there a difference in tone and volume when splitting the coils?

thanks

I swear by the quality of Dimarzio pots.

First link I googled

This pot is an Audio taper. Some will say you should use Linear taper pots for tone controls. I use audio taper pots on my tone controls and find them more useable (a small sweep doesn't put me in woman tone territory, you have to wind them down deliberately to get there).

The sound will become similar to a single coil but without the fullness or balls. It'll be a bit glassy. A2Pro HBs are not as good at tapping as say higher output HBs eg SD JB, where one coil of the HB is more like a strat single coil in output 14k/2 = 7 compare with 9k/2 = 4.5.

Following the math, you'll get a volume drop between split and full HB. It can be useable. I use a volume boost pedal for split mode when I want to play in your face single coil sounds.

The best moderate (PAF) output pickup for coil tapping is the Dimarzio 36th anniversary PAF. It doesn't sound glassy when tapped.
