Lammas Day
Hi Guys, First off, I LOVE my BFG, I love it's aesthetic, I love its weight, I love its look - can't understand why people sand down the finish and do something else, it's BEAUTIFUL, I love the neck, I love the clear plastic plexi backs to the electrics. I am annoyed at turning the kill switch on during the occasional upstroke... but that's for another thread. I love that f()cker, I love it a lot. I have got a couple of other guitars, and it was after everyone had gone out the house I thought - I know, lets go upstairs and make some noise. I was playing a bit (experimenting with pinched harmonics at the moment), so I was just riffing a bit, squealing a bit, a bit of dropped D chugging... it then occurred to me that - there's a lot of noise, not in a good way. Essentially, if I wasn't playing, I was feeding back. It was pretty loud, but I unplugged, got down my beautiful (in a different way) Ebony SG Standard - same levels on the head, didn't touch anything, just plugged the SG straight in... there was hardly a sound, obviously if I stood RIGHT in front it fed back, bit that's to be expected. But the BFG... gah!... I had to literally stand outside the room with the amp-cab in to get it to shut up. Can anyone suggest something which might chill this BFG the f()ck out? I know there's a lot of talk of shielding, the cavity but especially the kill switch cable - would this make any difference? Any suggestions? x
