Twiz
I have to replace the pots on one of my Les Paul Specials. The volume pots especially sound like crap. -When I have either one turned down to about 3 or 4, the sound cuts in and out, and they're scratchy as heck. Even liberal doses of Deoxit aren't bringing them back. I'm going to put in some 500k Gibson pots. My (probably dumb) question is do I get pots with the short or long post? I can't figure out what I need. My local shop doesn't have any in stock, so I have to order online, and I can't tell from photos on various websites... Thanks. -T

OUTLAW1969
I agree on contacting Roy at RS Guitars. Different Gibson Les Pauls can actually use one or the other, ie. some use the short shaft and some use long shaft. I cannot see you picture well, but it appears to be a more recent version that would probably need short shaft pots, but Roy will know for sure.
