This_Dying_Soul Posted August 16, 2011 Share Posted August 16, 2011 Yes.... and I will never forgive them for that. I don't think Metallica uses Robert Trujillo to his full potential. Not saying they should let him get all funky and turn them into Suicidal Tendencies or Infectious Grooves; but he's capable of so much more than they use him for... even Newstead eventually got to do more on his bass than just double the guitars all the time and part of what made Cliff Burton so great was that he was not just doubling the guitars the whole time. Robert has a proven track record with at least 3 bands prior to Metallica (lets not forget his stint with Ozzy)that he can play what's right for the song; I doubt he's doubling the guitars contstantly by choice. Searcy Posted August 16, 2011 Author Share Posted August 16, 2011 I have no idea what sort of bass lines he's playing these days. Couldn't hear him in the mix of Death Magnetic at all.
