Lonnie Mack, a man and his Flying V...

I hope he writes a biography. I bet it would be a good read..he recorded with The Doors, SRV, James Brown, Freddie King, Roy Buchanan, Dobie Gray, Ronnie Hawkins, Albert Collins.

Both Duane Allman and SRV listed Mack's 1963 album The Wham of That Memphis Man as a major influence as does Ray Benson and Jeff Beck.

And so is Dickie Betts; (Mack owns the 7th Flying V ever made, bought it new and still plays it today, and it has a Bigsby!)

His Flying V with the Bigsby has to be one of the coolest signature guitars ever. Right up there with Neil Young's Blackie.

I was talking to a coworker that loves electric blues and he was telling me how he always associated the V with blues because of Lonnie Mack, not as metal guitar as it later became.

And, let's not forget Albert King, was a "V" Blues man, too. ;>)

The first rock concert I ever attended was Iron Butterfly (I was 15) and the opening act was Albert King! My buddy Ray and I had heard blues records that my big brother had but we knew nothing about Albert King. He greeted fans after the show and talked to Ray for about a half an hour!

I have been a fan ever since...

Hell yes! Albert King was another blues legend that sported a Flying V. Lonnie and Albert are the two main reasons I pine for a Korina V.
