Dallastx
Hi all: I have a 1972 Deluxe that is in dire need of new strings. Looking for a set of light to medium gauge. Any thoughts? Thanks. I have 7 axes. Since I switch them often, I use webstrings Nashvilles. .10s. Awesome for the price. D
Widdler
I've used D'Addario 10's for about 20 years or so and have done way over a thousand gigs. In all that time I've had only 2 breaks! I wouldn't use anything else!

Pukeblud
I use diaddario and ernie balls, I would highly recommend both. As far as gauge, thats a personal preference. If your not sure, you can't go wrong with regular slinkys. I also like ernie ball skinny top/heavy bottoms. Its a hybrid pack so the three high strings are lights, so you can solo and pull off bends easily, but the bottoms are heavier so you get more beef. Hope thats helpful! :)
Guest rogerb
Strings are a personal preference. Current Les Paul models are shipped with .010 - .046w. Some players, including myself, prefer .009 - .042w. Brand is also personal preference. We recommend Gibson Brite Wires or Gibso Vintage Reissue electric strings. flyingarmadillo
EB Super Slinkys (.09 - .42) 2nd choice would be Brite Wires in the same gauge.
strat-o-steve
Try the medium gauge (.010's) Dunlop strings :D since using these the first time, I have not put anything else on my Gibson's!!!!!

Gary Moore Tribute
Im a D'addario man I use (EXL110) 10's on my Les Paul & V (EXL120) 09's on the Nighthawk & Mustang. To me a thicker neck needs thicker strings and visa versa. But also if you have a PULL style, the thinner strings the easier it is to achieve the bow required. imagemarine
I've used "Ernie Ball 2215 Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom" 10-52 for years and love them.
Jeff-7
Another GHS Boomers fan here, but I use the 10's.
Kzin
Elixir. They changed my life. Strings would last for 30 min for me before going all rusty. Elixirs last like forever.
Saxosim
Ernie Ball super slinkys for me, hey if they are/ have been good enough for Angus Young they are good enough for me. As people say though strings are a purely personal preference and I know others who think super slinkys are far too light but I like them, good luck with your choice.
