sjl200
I grew up in Cape Canaveral area (1hr east on the beach line from ORL)Most of the old shops are long gone If you want to spend a day at the beach head over and check out some of the places at Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach , Cocoa beach pier, has a great Happy Hour Fri and a Duo FRI&SAT that has been there 20 years. and decent restaurants on the water Lots of small clubs abound at the beach. The space center is a worth while day trip and go to the beach late to avoid some of the heat . I haven't been to Orlando ,except the airport in years sorry. BT Bob
If you fancy heading for the Gulf Coast, towards Tampa, head for Skippers Smoke House - saw The Blind Boys Of Alabama there last year and they (and the venue) were awesome. http://www.skipperssmokehouse.com/ Don't know about guitar shops, sorry. jannusguy2
There's a House of Blues right on the Disney property. The Plaza Theatre, Beecham Theatre and The Social are all good venues for cutting edge, independent music. They host a wide variety of national acts. Don't know about guitar shops over there. Sadly, Tampa's last good independent guitar shop closed about 2 mos. ago.
