Each month I think Gibson should present a forum member with a free gift--signed copy of a photo of Les Paul, an all-expense paid trip to the Gibson factory, a new Les Paul, a free plek job...you get the picture.

How about it?

There is an amp section..A Gibson amp section. Honestly' date=' do you know anyone who has one?

Nor do I ![/quote']

I dont... I asked about them once... to no avail... I guess people who buy Gibson amps spend their free time playing... as opposed to people who buy Gibson guitars, that spend their free time in this forum eusa_whistle.gif

I would like to see an actual (real) pic of a Gibson amp (the bigger ones)... does any known artist use them? How are they supopsed to sound like? (seeing as most tube amps are either marshall, fender, or vox's original desing improvements...)

I have Gibson amps.... Super Gold Tone combos.

They sound great, and you can play them at lower levels.

Of course ... they're best cranked.

Pretty sure Joe Perry & Rick Nielsen played Gibson Super Gold Tone combos & stacks.

The 5 watt LP Jr. amp is pretty cool too. I'm surprised more people don't have these Gibsons.

I have a Gibson Les Paul Junior Goldtone amp that I'm very happy with...only six watts and a single volume control but it's PLENTY loud enough for home playing and I'm not that much into tweaking anyway. Very articulate, pick sensitive and it handles pedals very well. I love it! <g>

I bought it new for $300 when Musician's Friend had a clearance sale last year.

Hey guys' date=' im not coming down on Gibson amps....Im sure they sound great.[/quote']

They do! Most are lower powered, EL84 based amps, very smooth and compressed when turned up loud, and they have excellent reverb and tremolo circuits.

An amp section/topic would be a great idea. We talk a lot about them anyway! Might as well make it legit. I have popped into the Gibson and Epiphone amp sections, but there is very little talk there, however.

Yeah Sam Ash does have one isn't it right under the Epiphone section or did they move it to the back room where all the little punks go.

Last time I was there it was still out with the Epis. Looked cool, actually.
