Guest farnsbarns
Went to a blues club tonight, best not name it. I went because I looked on the web site and saw the name of a well known blues pianist. When I got there I found out the act was actually a person by the same name, not the person I was expecting, and they were crap. should I be complaining? I mean, I suppose it was their name but clearly it was misleading.

The RandyMan
Could be worse. I found someone else in Ohio with the same name as me!! Checked it out and it's not the theft of my identity--this guy actually has the same name! And, trust me, it's not a common name. At least, that's what I thought . . . The RandyMan
At the very least, you'd think that they would've put some kind of footnote on the site to the effect that, "This ain't the well-known one" or "Not to be confused with the (artist's name here) that everyone has heard of." G McBride
I find it interesting that many of us have the same sense of humor, or lack of it. I guess that depends on who you ask. I liked the "Free Beer" joke.

grampa
Roy Rogers, the ace slide player, is often asked if he is related to the "real" Roy Rogers, meaning the cowboy actor whose "real" name was Leonard Slye or something like that, and he says he is the "real" Roy Rogers. I don't know if anyone is fooled or feels cheated in this case.
S t e v e
why not name the club, farns?
Guest farnsbarns
why not name the club, farns? Dunno actually, it was Ain't Nothing But (The Blues) in Soho and the website listed Bridie King. Bridie King is a well known, Australian, blues/boogie pianist but this one was a mediocre singer with a terrible band.
FirstMeasure
Ah yes, the legendary Bridie King and his legions of imitators
Guest farnsbarns
Is it ridicule Farnsbarns day or something? :(
stein
No ridicule intended, But I have never heard of that guy. Of corse, just because i have never heard of him doesn't mean a thing as far as how good he would be or what he has contributed or done for the Blues. BUT...I probably would not expect anyone to know who he is.
FirstMeasure
Is it ridicule Farnsbarns day or something? :( I'm sorry. I was just expecting like a B.B. King or Joe Bonnamassa or something like that.
retrosurfer1959
That is strange with a name as unusual as Bridie King were they also going by the band name of Boogie Kings because tat would mean it was intentional for sure. Sadly Bridie is pretty well unheard of in the US he's not anywhere as famous here as he is in Australia and UK
LarryUK
The first band I was in at 11 was called 'Gonnarock'. We'd say. We're Gonnarock and you're Gonorrhoea us. I went to school with a kid named 'Michael Jackson'. He even got stick then. We're the same age as him.
Namvet
I bought an albumn once called "Best of the Beatles". Turns out it wasn't the Beatles but their former drummer Peter Best. Definitely felt deceived. I'll go for the "Free Beer". Loved that comment!
