hello all, as the title states i need a power transformer for my valve jr, and i know i could purchase one of a million online but, i have access to a ton of old power transformers in my grandfathers garage, i just need to know what voltages to look for, i believe its 6.3 filament, and 250 for the board is that correct?

would this particular transformer work

TP2X

thanks in advance

I know a little about the VJs, but not enough to give you a definitive answer....There are some folks her that know their way around a Jr quite well, perhaps they'll chime in....or, you could head over to www.sewatt.com ....absolutely amazing wealth of info on single ended tube amps there, the VJ in particular....warning - there's enough stuff there to make one's head swim ;) ...good luck.

The TP18 would be what you'd want. Turretboards.com has the Heyboer direct-fit replacement on sale ($75).

You might also consider just buying a used Vjr head, considering what a replacement PT costs. I don't recall offhand what the specs are, but they should be printed on the label of the transformer.
