Jumpingputty
I am sure that this has been posted on here previously but i will ask anyway, i myself have a gibson sg stand and an epiphone g-400 that has had a fairly extensive up grade and am thinking of putting a form of p-90's into the guitar. Is there actually a tonal difference between the standard p-90's and the humbucker sized ones because i have read around and many say their is? Any help would be appreciated. Robin Nahum
Hi and welcome jp, In a way your question is a bit hypothetical as a conventional P90 that you buy today might not sound like that P90 that you heard in an old SG Special. I would be more inclined to think about what tone you want from an HB-sized P90 and what kind of music you play and then contact a well-regarded pickup winder who does these and tell him what you want.
