Stewie
What is the difference in tone between the aluminum tailpiece and the standard one? Also can you purchase the historic parts separately through Gibson Historic spec parts. I am interested in the tailpiece, switch ring, pickup rings, jack plug. BTW I am not too sure about this forum either. This is my second attempt at this topic!
Stewie
I am hoping this will not be like the original forum where it take weeks for someone to reply!
Raptor
The aluminum tailpiece is more historically accurate and a bit lighter. There are plenty of after market makers of vintage spec parts. Gibson does not usually sell the historic reissue parts over the counter, but if you find a repair center or good dealer, they might be able to get you one. Bakz
I have two. There is a negligible thicker tone when playing slide. The mouse pad is cool.

vincentw
Anybody else out there a fan of wraparound tailpieces? Love 'em. The tone on my LP Special w/P-90s and a wraparound is amazing.... My friend's '54 Goldtop reissue is sick.

jamman
I just tryed wrap around on my 2005 faded.(about a month ago) imo, it's an improvement. somewhat better sound, it feels like there is a little less tension on the strings, making it easier to bend them. And I put 9's on that guitar. I like the way it plays now. I'll be keeping it set up like this for awhile. Whats with the post from 2007 ?
