Aluminum Tailpiece vs standard

What is the difference in tone between the aluminum tailpiece and the standard one? Also can you purchase the historic parts separately through Gibson Historic spec parts. I am interested in the tailpiece, switch ring, pickup rings, jack plug.

BTW

I am not too sure about this forum either. This is my second attempt at this topic!

The aluminum tailpiece is more historically accurate and a bit lighter. There are plenty of after market makers of vintage spec parts. Gibson does not usually sell the historic reissue parts over the counter, but if you find a repair center or good dealer, they might be able to get you one.

I just tryed wrap around on my 2005 faded.(about a month ago) imo, it's an improvement. somewhat better sound, it feels like there is a little less tension on the strings, making it easier to bend them. And I put 9's on that guitar. I like the way it plays now. I'll be keeping it set up like this for awhile. Whats with the post from 2007 ?
