Unusual pickguards on gibsons

I'm on a trip home to Scotland at the minute, as usual on my travels I always pop in to some of the guitar stores here. While in today I saw a well used j-45 with what looked like a cream aftermarket pickguard installed, giving it an unusual yet vintage harmony/Stella/Kay look.

It wasn't for sale, it was in for some tech work but it was a rather cool looking guitar so I thought I'd start a thread to let those with funky pickguards to show us their mods.

Unfortunately I didn't take my phone so I've no pic and I leave to go home in the morning, I'm going to email the shop and ask them for a pic though.

So let's see those pickguards...

Regards

I've seen some early pictures of John B. Sebastian with a Gibson Heritage. It has the characteristic Epiphone guard without the E-logo. I wouldn't call it weird, but a little unusual for a Gibson, isn't it. . .

Others have the straight teardrop version and some feature the teardrop and a Dove-like bridge without the dove-symbols. All in all pretty Kalamazooish.

Wonder if these were/are good guitars GibsonHeritage1967.jpg

Sorry Jannusguy2....But not feeling that guard. Pretty guitar, otherwise!

Regardless of how the pickguard looks you should hear how it sounds. Un-f***ing believable. There are 2 on ebay right now. One like mine for 3850.00 BIN and a centennial version with BRW at 15K BIN. Let us know which one you snag!

I really like the red one I'd posted, it was on the bay a wee while back and I nearly bought it, he was about 150quid on the expensive side for me though. It's what made me notice the one in the shop too, the sunburst and cream looked good.

Not heard back from the store as yet as I asked for a pic.

I think the red one posted benefits from good pics though, suggesting a bit of a wine colouring to it, I've seen similar ones which looked very red and it was a cheaper look in my opinion, those very red pics on google images are what made me stall on this one incase it looked too red in the flesh.
