Pics of my 2008 Les Paul Traditional

Hello brothers and sisters of good taste. This is my first post but I've been a Gibson fan even before I picked up my first guitar in 1982. These pictures are of my 2008 Les Paul Traditional. The tag on the showroom floor says it's an Iced Tea, which it is not, my receipt says it's a Honey Burst. That seems likely but it's darker then the other Honey Bursts I've seen. I tried various 2007 and 2008 Les Paul Standards, a few 2002 new old stocks, a used Slash Les Paul ($1900.00 CDN, the one with the figured maple top) and eventually picked this one. The new 2008 Standard and Traditional were very consistent in feel and sound. To my ears the Traditionals have a more pronounced mid range and for my eyes it has all the right ingredients. My final decision came down to this guitar's top and it's fit and finish when compared to the other Traditionals in town.

I thought the 2008's had the locking' date=' Grover tuners? [/quote']

Only the new 2008 Standard.

Great tuners.

There's a definitive fork in the road now in the Les Paul line. Gibson is really pushing the new Standard after dropping several other lines, leaving the Traditional to be what the Standard used to be....

Saying I'm a Traditional guy now has more meaning than ever.
