rubyred
just newbie question - I am looking for a new acoustic to replace an old abused yamaha FG-401. Just after some opinions on the 2 and is there a $100 difference. I played a DR220 this afternoon - very different to the old Yamaha, very nice, I haven`t played any acoustic but the yamaha for many years. I can`t find a Hummingbird in a local shop to play for comparison. The deal is I can get the Hummingbird for $399 + $30 delivery and the local shop has the DR220 for $299. I am not looking for anything great - just something to play my little kids nursery rhyme songs and to practice instead of plugging in. thanks for any advice. meanstreak
The bird for sure! Is the Hummingbrid Artist available in Australia? It's only $249 in the US so could be an even better option. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/epiphone-limited-edition-hummingbird-artist-acoustic-guitar
rubyred
Is the Hummingbrid Artist available in Australia? I can not find a Hummingbird Artist listed with any Australian music store online or local. Would seem the perfect choice if I could get one, was never aware an economical version of the Hummingbird was available. Thanks
rubyred
anyway - didn`t buy either one - just picked up a Tanglewood TW28 cedar topped , mahogany body - sounds brilliant, warm, big and clear, and built well, all the binding is wood not plastic, tusq nut and bridge. All for $200 AU. Gotta be happy with that.
