Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute Neck help!

I purchased a LP 60's tribute on 09/18 of this year. Guitar screams and I love it. But my problem is where the fret board and neck come together. There is obvious flaws. The fret board does not line up with the neck along places. I have some tiny gaps from the neck to the fret board. Just looks like shotty workmanship. I can feel the difference's between the neck and fret board in my hand, as well as seeing it. Doesn't feel any or look like it could be one piece. I know they are 2 separate pieces, but I have really cheap, low end guitars, that feel and look better. I am a drummer but took up the guitar seriously about 2 years ago. Started out on Yamaha LL16 acoustic and then grabbed a few low end electrics (BC Rich, Ibanez, Dean). Looking at the Gibson LP neck I have, it makes them low end guitars look like works of art. Did Gibson let one sneak out that shouldn't have or is this to be expected with the LP Studio '60s tribute? All other aspects of the guitar are spot on. I took it to a luthier and had it set up and he even noticed the neck. I can fit edges of paper, 2-3 in some spots, between the neck and fret board. There are spots where the neck comes up above the fret board. It just doesn't feel or look like one piece, or even close to that. Looks like it was just slapped on the neck, no sanding or fitting. This is my first real electric and Gibson was the obvious choice for me. Thought I'd toss this out there and see what what people said. I appreciate any feedback or input :) I tried taking pics, but its almost impossible to get it to show up. In any case, any help is appreciated.

Send it back...there's no excuse for that kind of "problem." IMHO

There has been (at least) one other person, on this forum, with that same

kind of problem, on his "Tribute" LP Studio.

That's a manufacturing flaw, and is covered under warranty. They

need to repair or replace it, for you.

Received a RMA number from Gibson today. I was reading the forums until late last night. Barely got

any sleep, but it gave me a better insight to my issue. Glad I joined up and read a lot. Got a mini

education, Lol. This will be the last time I buy a guitar online. As I said, I am a drummer by trade,

but I still should of known better. Yeah, I gotta great price online, but now having to ship it back,

doesn't seem so great now. I will try to post some pics of it. Maybe this can help some one else in

the future if they come across a similar issue. I really appreciate the advise and input. The guy at

Gibson was very cool and understanding.

Didn't have time to get any pics taken. Printed a shipping receipt online and UPS was knocking on my door and I wasn't even done packaging it. But he waited 5 minutes.

Pics I had already taken.

Pusher...Welcome, and good luck, on your return. Don't let it sour you, on Gibson's. It happens,

to the best of them, unfortunately. One slips through the cracks, now and then. The previous one,

I mentioned, happened right after the flood, at the factory, when they were desperately trying to

fill back-orders. I think QC was a unusually "taxed," at that time. But, since your's was more recent,

it was probably just one that got by them. Might have "popped" up, during shipping, too. Hard to

know, really, just what did happen, and why, for sure. They'll take care of you, though. I, personally,

have always had good luck, with any CS dealings, with Gibson.

So, again...Good Luck, to you...

Thanks again CB for your help. Soon as I seen ur post, I called Gibson. They were really cool about it. Hope no one gets

into trouble though. They wanted the inspection card shipped with the guitar. But she's on her way. Stopped at GC and was

eye balling a LP standard Goldtop. Them Burstbucker Pro pups sounded super sweet. I think this LP thing may become an

addiction, Lol. Again, thanks for ur help CB!

Yeah, they can be "addicting," I guess. Especially, if you have the "means."

So many pretty tops (plain or figured), and different models. Don't overlook

the "slab" models, like the Junior's or Specials (Single and Double Cutaway).

They are fun/amazing guitars, in their own right. Especially, the P-90 versions.

If you're anything like a lot of us, here, there WILL be more LP's, in your future. LOL
