bonzoboy
Matthew Sweet is a genius. These songs just are the tip of the iceberg. He has teemed up with Susanna Hoff of the Bangles to do to Cover albums fittingly called Under The Covers.Their cover of the Beatles And Your Bird Can Sing is worth the price of both albums. There are not many artists out there who can pull off a good Beatles cover but Matthew and Susie do it with a flourish. EVOL!
He gets a thumbs up from me for hiring the late, great Robert Quine to play on his albums.

heymisterk
The album "Girlfriend" is a rock and roll masterpiece. The guitar playing on that album is just outrageous. When it came out, Rolling Stone described it as "the guitar bark of Neil Young and Crazy Horse blending with the sonic gorgeousness of Revolver-era Beatles..." That would be the fret work of the late, great Robert Quine.
