Weight: Classic vs standard vs traditional

This may be a silly question, but does anyone know the rough differences between the weights of these model LP's? What's the heaviest, lightest and in between.

Obviously all models are different, but take for example the LP Gibson classic 2001 that I posted in another thread - what would that weigh compared to a standard and traditional - heavier or lighter

As you rightly state, there is a wide range of weights between identical models but as a very rough guide...

Modern Standards, which are chambered, typically seem to be in the 7 1/2 - 8lb range; Trads, which are weight-relieved, tend to be in the 9 - 9 1/2lb range.

Classics vary between type of Classic; whether they are a Classic Custom; 1960 Classic; Classic Antique and so on. Some are chambered and some are weight-relieved. The weights of each type tend to follow the above rough guide.

It will be closer to the Trads. FWIW my two Classics (a '91 and a '95) are 9lb 1 1/2oz and 9lb 0 1/4 oz respectively.

EDIT : Sorry! I read this thread before I saw your other one. [blush] My Bad.

I see what you mean now. LOL!

Yes; it's likely to be about 9lbs
