Cat Daddy Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 What's the difference between "490r & 490t" and "490r &490t"? <g> Cat Daddy
tazzboy Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 What's the difference between "490r & 490t" and "490r &490t"? <g> Cat Daddy They are pretty much the same pickup except one is for the neck and one is for the bridge.
tazzboy Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I like the burstbucker pro's but I also like the Tim Shaw pickups and Jason Lollar Imperial Low wound Pickups.
Tim Plains Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 BurstBuckers 1 & 2 all the way!! What's the difference between "490r & 490t" and "490r &490t"? <g> They are pretty much the same pickup except one is for the neck and one is for the bridge. tazz, one is supposed to be 490R/498T. 490/490 is found on SG Specials.
AXE® Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 What's the difference between "490r & 490t" and "490r &490t"? <g>Cat Daddy I got it ... kind of swooshed over some heads from what I've seen... Did the same poll in another forum .. exact same choices trick question and all ....
ckledzepplin Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 the bb pro's through my marshall just kill
slimjimdom Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 What? No ceramics? :) My vote would be for p-90s
myspace.com/jessenoah Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 plus one to the tim shaws otherwise 57 classics dimarzio makes good stuff also
NeoConMan Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Maybe one of the choices was supposed to be 490/498? For me, it's the 57 Classic with a Classic Plus in the bridge.
pippy Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I like the '57 Classics. I could be wrong (you don't say!) but it seemed to me that they are less powerful but more controllable and versatile tone-wise than the BB's.
guitar_randy Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 Its interesting.I've done polls similiar to this one on other sites and many go with burstbuckers
guitar_randy Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 What's the difference between "490r & 490t" and "490r &490t"? <g> Cat Daddy Not a thing Typo.Meant 490r&490t and 490r &498t Guess I should have looked at it closer before submitting
guitar_randy Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 Maybe one of the choices was supposed to be 490/498? For me' date=' it's the 57 Classic with a Classic Plus in the bridge.[/quote'] right on,it was a typo.
ChanMan Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 BBPros gave me what I heard in my head. I may have a different opinion later
saturn Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Since 490/498 wasn't avail because of the typo, I went with BB 1/2 combo.
Witmer Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 I went with the first 490/490 combo, meaning 490/498
Tim Plains Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 I voted for BurstBuckers 1 & 2 because they are my favorite pickup out of that list. ...but what is it with people's obsession for "the best?" There is no "the best." If there were, we'd all have it and there would be no other choices. My R9 is by far "the best" guitar I've ever played...but the truth is, I hardly play it. My other LPs get played much, much more. Why? I don't know.
SRV-Zeppelin Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Overall, I like 57s best. But in a Les Paul... BB Pro's. I love the fact that they can really bite even with low distortion but you can turn the rhythm PU down to clean up the tone. Gibson all the way!
